1. Specific Additional Permitted
Uses (reproduced from clause 4 in the Licence to Access)
In addition to any Fair Dealing use permitted,
and on condition that sufficient acknowledgement is given, the Licensee
or any person benefiting from its Licence to access the Publication
is may:
1.1 make use of the Publication for
the purpose of display to individuals or groups in lectures, seminars,
museums, galleries, reading rooms and offices on the Licensee's premises;
1.2 print multiple copies of an insubstantial
portion of the Publication as handouts to students and other participants
in courses or lectures offered by the Licensee on its premises or,
in the case of the Licensee's fee-paying distance-learning students,
remotely;
1.3 create multiple links to the Publication
or pages within it from online catalogues and subject- or course-related
bibliographies and finding aids;
1.4 transmit electronically or on
paper and solely for scholarly research purposes insubstantial amounts
of the Publication to individual colleagues who are not affiliated
to the Licensee;
1.5 include individual images from
the Publication to be reproduced with the text of articles submitted
to appear in bona fide academic journals and academic monographs
without requiring further permission on condition that due the Licensor
is kept notified in writing and that attribution is given; and,
1.6 make digital copies of images
or associated metadata from the Publication and to save them for
as long as reasonably required in relation to the uses permitted above.
2. Prohibited Uses of the
Publication (reproduced from clause 5 in the Licence to Access)
The Licensee or any person benefiting from
its Licence to access the Publication is prohibited from engaging
in any of the following except as permitted above:
2.1 recreating the Publication or
any part thereof without first obtaining the Licensor’s consent
in writing;
2.2 modifying the Publication in any
way including for example by hiding or amending any statement or
mark denoting ownership of intellectual or other property rights
therein;
2.3 exploiting the Publication for
commercial gain; or,
2.4 reproducing, disassembling, recompiling,
translating, or reverse-engineering any part of the software used
therein. |
